The Bioengineering Partnerships with Industry program funds academic–industry research partnerships to develop and validate promising bioengineering tools and technologies aimed at unmet biomedical needs. Projects should use integrative, quantitative bioengineering approaches and be designed to produce robust, well-characterized solutions with the potential to impact healthcare or advance understanding of life science processes within about 5–10 years. Clinical trial activities are optional, but the partnership focus and technology development are central.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) solicits applications from research partnerships formed by academic and industrial investigators to accelerate the development and adoption of promising bioengineering tools and technologies that can address important biomedical problems.
