Background The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) is issuing a solicitation for the Hay Barn Boiler Replacement project at the Hay Barn of Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park. The agency's mission includes maintaining and enhancing state parks and historic sites. This contract aims to replace outdated heating systems to improve operational efficiency and safety.

Work Details The scope of work includes:

1. Removal of existing gas-fired boilers and breeching.
2. Removal of hot water piping to indirect domestic water heater.
3. Removal and replacement of existing boiler room make-up air damper and actuator.
4. Provision of two condensing boilers, stainless steel breeching, and stainless steel liner for chimney in existing wall opening.
5. Tie-in to the existing hot water distribution system.
6. Provision of three electric domestic water heaters and two under-sink instant hot water heaters.
7. Performance of all required cleaning, testing, and balancing of new equipment, along with commissioning.
8. Installation of a floor drain for condensate pump discharge over the roll door.
9. Removal and replacement of the existing Johnson Control hot water system controller.

Period of Performance The completion date for this project is set for 365 days after the agreement has been approved by the NYS Comptroller’s Office.

Place of Performance The work will be performed at Hay Barn Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park, located at 1395 Planting Fields Road, Oyster Bay, Nassau County, New York.

Bidder Requirements Bidders must comply with several requirements including: a bid security amounting to $34,200; registration with the Bureau of Public Work; compliance with Gender-Based Violence in the Workplace certification; adherence to MWBE goals (10% MBE and 20% WBE participation) and SDVOB goals (6% participation). Additionally, bidders must submit a completed New York State Vendor Responsibility Questionnaire prior to contract award.
