NIEHS Superfund Research and Training (P42) funding for universities (clinical trial optional)

The NIEHS P42 Superfund Research Program funds multi-project centers focused on hazardous substance research and training. Only accredited higher education institutions may apply, but they can subcontract with domestic or foreign partners such as hospitals, labs, governments, nonprofits, or industry to conduct parts of the work. Clinical trials are optional.

Per NIEHS legislative authority, ONLY Higher Education Institutions may apply to this P42 NOFO. Section 311(a)(3) of SARA limits recipients of awards to "accredited institutions of higher education," which are defined in the Higher Education Act, 20 USC (annotated) 3381. However, applicant…
