FY26 COPS Hiring Program: Grants to hire or rehire sworn officers for community policing

The DOJ Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) will provide grants to state, local, territorial, and Tribal law enforcement agencies to hire or rehire additional sworn officers/deputies. The funding is intended to increase agencies’ community policing capacity and support crime prevention efforts through community partnerships and related planning and management changes.
