This is a Florida Department of Transportation construction solicitation to widen SR 869 (Sawgrass Expressway) from six to ten lanes between Sunrise Boulevard and Oakland Park Boulevard. The scope includes pavement widening and reconstruction, milling and resurfacing, and interchange improvements at several key cross-streets, bundled with broader corridor safety and operations improvements. Prequalification is required for contractors, and large project bidders may need to demonstrate prior successful experience.

LETTING LOCATION: TPK HDQ POSTING DATES: 11/17/2026 and 12/01/2026 CONTRACT DAYS: 1730 CONTRACT EXECUTION DAYS: 10 SPECIAL START DATE: N/A ACQUIS./FLEXIBLE START TIME: 30 Work consists of providing all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals necessary for widening the SR 869 / Sawgrass Expressway from six (6) to future ten (10) lanes under FPID No. 437155-1-52-01 as part of the corridor wide safety and operation improvements. The limits of the project are from Sunrise Boulevard (Blvd.) (MP 0.5) to Oakland Park Blvd. (MP 4.1). The project includes Pavement Widening, Reconstruction, Milling and Resurfacing, and Interchange improvements at Sunrise Blvd/SR 838 (MP 1), Pat Salerno Drive (MP 2.5), and Oakland Park Blvd/SR 816 (MP 3). For projects in excess of $50 million, in addition to meeting all other qualification requirements of Section 337.14, Florida Statutes, and Rule Chapter 14-22, Florida Administrative Code, any Contractor who is not prequalified and in good standing with the Department as of January 1, 2019, must submit evidence which demonstrates satisfactory completion of at least two projects, each in excess of $15 million, for the Florida Department of Transportation or for any other state department of transportation. Acceptability of the evidence related to the two projects is at the sole discretion of the Department. No Pre-Bid Conference. Contractor must be prequalified.
