Grants for community-based shelters and counseling for runaway and homeless youth under 18

The Basic Center Program funds community-based organizations to run short-term shelters and provide counseling for youth under 18 who have run away or face homelessness or housing instability. Grants support group homes or host family homes and related services. Youth already served by child welfare or juvenile justice systems are not eligible.

Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)
Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
State governments
