Marine Geology and Geophysics Research Program (Ocean basins, margins, and Great Lakes)

This program funds research on marine geology and geophysics, including how ocean basins and continental margins form and evolve, volcanic and tectonic activity, and heat and chemical exchange between seawater and rocks. It also supports studies of marine sediments, past ocean circulation and climate, and interactions between land and marine geological processes, including the Great Lakes.

The Marine Geology and Geophysics program supports research on all aspects of geology and geophysics of the ocean basins and margins, as well as the Great Lakes.
