FY25–26 Railroad Crossing Elimination Grants for Safer Grade Crossing Projects

This program provides grants for highway-rail or pathway-rail grade crossing improvements, including projects that eliminate railroad crossings. Funding targets work that improves safety and mobility for people and goods by upgrading or removing dangerous crossing points. Projects may include crossing elimination and related safety enhancements.

The Crossings Program funds highway-rail or pathway-rail grade crossing improvement projects, including but not limited to elimination projects, that improve safety and mobility of people and goods.
