Phased Innovation Award (R21/R33): 2 years R21 + 3 years R33
This Notice of Funding Opportunity uses the Phased Innovation Award (R21/R33) mechanism to support early developmental projects with up to 2 years of R21 funding and up to 3 years of R33 funding for expansion. Applicants should propose a phased plan that progresses from initial development to larger-scale activities during the R33 phase.
This NOFO will use the Phased Innovation Award (R21/R33) mechanism to provide up to 2 years of R21 support for initial developmental activities, and up to 3 years of R33 support for expanded activities.

Restrictions and conditions:
- For-profit organizations are not eligible to lead applications under this mechanism. They may participate only as consortium members or subcontractors. Applications submitted by for-profit organizations will not be reviewed.
